I have over 30 years of experience in materials physics and ultrahigh vacuum technology. I direct an interdisciplinary facility devoted to research into the fundamental properties at the surface and interfaces of optoelectronic materials and their development for applications in electronics and integrated optics. I am committed to increasing the number of minorities in the sciences and engineering while concurrently serving the needs of our industrial and governmental partners.
